Brethren,

Westhampton Lodge No. 302 – March Stated Meeting Recap

The March stated meeting was well attended, with three potential candidates for membership presenting themselves to the Lodge. Each provided a brief background and expressed a desire to become Masons at Westhampton Lodge.

During dessert, a video was shown depicting modern-day Masons replacing a spire on a cathedral in Germany. It was fascinating to learn that molten lead is used to help support each section.

Bro. Easton Barrington Rodd was presented with his Master Mason’s Certificate from the Grand Lodge, receiving a round of applause from those in attendance as he signed it at the podium.

A motion was presented and passed to install metal road barriers at our two entrances to prevent unauthorized access to our property. These will replace the steel ropes currently in use.

Every Master has a pet project, and mine is FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)https://www.firstinspires.org/. In support of this initiative, Brother Patrick Miller from Tuckahoe Lodge No. 347 gave a presentation on his work mentoring local FIRST teams through local, regional, and final competitions. I believe adding FIRST to our youth programs would contribute to the growth of Masonry.

My 2025 plan includes several initiatives designed to strengthen and enhance our Lodge:

  • Increasing Membership – Fireside chats, “bring a friend” events, and blood drives.
  • Community Outreach – Christmas toy donations and contributions to local schools and charities.
  • Building Improvements – Upgrades to the Lodge room and kitchen.
  • Grounds Maintenance – Road sign updates, lawn equipment, and patio shading.

Some of these projects require only time, while others involve modest financial contributions. I recognize that inflation and taxes are rising, but I hope you will consider donating to Westhampton Lodge No. 302 to support these efforts.

Looking Ahead to April

At our April stated meeting, Worshipful Charles Dodson, Instructor of Work for District 15A, will present a program.

For dinner, we will enjoy a traditional Easter meal, including:

  • Ham
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Vegetables
  • Rolls
  • Salad
  • Dessert

We look forward to seeing you there!

Fraternally,
Wor. James Stephen Schaefer
Worshipful Master
